Shakespeare Bio

William Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright. Although his date of birth is unknown, he was baptized on April 26, 1564 and died on April 23, 1616. He married Anne Hathaway at the age of 18 and had three children, Susanna, Hamnet, and Judith. He began a successful career in London as an actor, writer,and part-owner of a playing company called Lord Chamberlain's Men. His early plays were mainly comedies and histories, and later began writing tragedies, inlcuding Hamlet and Macbeth.
